Artist’s Statement

My art is motivated by the tensions created from the relations between objects, narratives, and expressions. Fashion, time, matter, and sound are key factors which can define my art.

In my art I try to capture unsolved or paradoxical moments, stories and rhythms and transform them into objects or drawings. The transformation from a tensed occasion into a sculpture or installation, allows me to create a level between reality and abstract.

I derive inspiration from deficiencies in our lives, languages, comprehension, structures, and matter around us. Deficiencies, in contrast to occasions, are found on timelines and freeze a certain moment. By doing so, such deficiencies divide the timeline into past and future and create occasions.

Deficiencies do not reveal all details and force the audience to complete the missing parts not necessarily by observation.

My process of creation is divided into stages, creation of a series of drawings which articulate the essence that I want to cast into the installations, naming the piece of work and finally selecting the proper materials.
